To assist the Buyer/Senior Buyer in purchasing all materials as per the company's business requirements, you will be responsible for collating and analyzing order requirements and supplier information. Your responsibilities may vary depending on where the focus is, but your primary responsibilities are:
1. Procurement
- Send out inquiries for appropriate materials, collate and analyze quotations.
- Keep accurate records of contacts and orders placed.
- Place and progress orders to ensure that all date and price changes are communicated to the appropriate parties.
- Review sales orders and decide whether to purchase or use existing stock.
- Produce and maintain spreadsheets for bulk buying function.
- As required, place orders with suitable suppliers for specified materials ensuring goods are delivered on the required date and purchased at the most competitive rates and within the budget.
- Ensure the quality and performance of ordered materials is in line with required standards.
- Consolidate the purchases of materials to achieve maximum economic benefit.
- Chase deliveries from suppliers that are overdue or urgent.
- Provide accurate and on-time information to internal customers.
- Identify and source new opportunities and suppliers that align with the current business model.

2. Purchasing Standards
- In liaison with the Buyer/Senior Buyer, inform other departments of all relevant information regarding changes in materials, major price movements, delivery lead times, and individual supply situations.
- Use Group buying deals unless authorized otherwise by the Buyer/Senior Buyer.
- Assist the Buyer/Senior Buyer in maintaining the Purchasing internal computer information system for the Group.
- Extract data via SQL to ensure all orders are covered.

3. Other
- Ensure familiarity with the Wanzl Group's Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and comply with employee responsibilities.
- At all times, comply with company policies procedures and instructions.
- Implement new ideas and methods and continue to seek ways of both improving contribution to the organization's goals and enhancing the reputation of the company.
- Liaise with the warehouse and stock controller on a daily basis.
- Liaise closely with colleagues at the head office in Germany.

Essential requirements

To be successful in this field, you need to have:

- Level 3 Certificate in Purchasing and Supply (desired).
- Good organizational and planning skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- The ability to work on multiple projects at one time.
- The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong IT skills.
- Background/experience in buying.
- Self-motivation.
- The ability to be a team player.
- Computer literacy.
- Strong personal qualities, such as confidence and excellent communication skills.
- German language skills would be an advantage, but are not essential.

**Salary**: £32,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
