**Project Officer - CSconnected SIPF Project**

We are recruiting a Project Officer who will play a key role to the successful delivery of the ‘CSconnected’ Strength in Places Fund (SIPF) project. You will have a key role in supporting the CSconnected SIPF consortium and South Wales semiconductor community at a dynamic stage of its evolution and growth, working alongside industry, Higher and Further Education partners and government bodies to ensure this high-profile project successfully delivers on its aims.
- Led by Cardiff University, the CSconnected consortium includes two University partners and ten further industry and government partners. Part-funded by UK government funding provided through UK Research and Innovation’s flagship Strength in Places Fund, the £40 million, 55-month project aims to strengthen the position of the compound semiconductor cluster in South Wales to compete in rapidly evolving global markets. SIPF is providing £25m of funding, with the balance of investment provided by partners. The CSconnected SIPF project is part of a wider and growing portfolio of activities and investments in compound semiconductors across the region.-

**Duties and Responsibilities**

**Key Duties**:

- Support the Programme Manager to enable the successful delivery, reporting, monitoring and evaluation of the CSconnected Strength in Places Fund project.
- Establish and maintain working knowledge of CSconnected Strength in Places Fund processes and procedures and provide detailed advice to internal and external customers, using judgement and
- creativity to suggest the most appropriate course of action where appropriate, contributing to the resolution of more complex issues.
- Collaborate with others to make recommendations for developments of established processes and procedures, developing links within and beyond the consortium to support the delivery and sustainability of the project.
- Support the planning, reporting and monitoring of project progress and suggest ideas for corrective action, as appropriate and proactively change delivery according to customer requirements.
- Work with the Programme Manager to monitor progress across the work packages and coordination with the partners to produce progress reports.
- Support, and lead where required, the collation of data across the projects Key Performance Indicators, establishing basic trends and patterns in data and creating reports as appropriate ensuring these meet expectations of the funder and project CEO-level stakeholders, including Annual Reports and ResearchFish submissions.
- Support any required procurement exercises, and subsequent service provider contracts, led by the Programme Manager, in consultation with relevant delivery, procurement, RIS finance and legal teams.
- Establish working relationships with key contacts to help improve service levels, developing appropriate communication links across the project’s partners, with the University’s Schools/Directorates and outside bodies as required.
- Work with the Programme Manager to support, and lead where required, working groups involving colleagues across the programme and University to achieve the programme's objectives.
- Arrange, support and lead where required, key internal and external meetings, ensuring correct papers are distributed in advance, including agendas, minutes and briefing papers, and monitor follow up actions.
- Draft correspondence, summary briefings and update reports on project activities, co-ordinating the inputs of others and supporting creation of documents and presentations as required.
- Positively represent the project to all stakeholders, identifying key positive messaging on project outputs and impacts ensuring appropriate dissemination through the CSconnected marketing and communications team.

Qualifications and Education
- 1. Degree/NVQ 6 or equivalent work-related experience
- Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- 2. Experience of working with and supporting large teams and/or multiple partners or stakeholders.- 4. Excellent numerical and data management skills, including ability to create, manage and manipulate datasets and spreadsheets, interpret data and summarise in reports.
