Bognor Regis, United Kingdom Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust Full time

This post is full time, 37.5 hours a week and part time will also be considered. The base is the wards at Bognor Hospital intermediate care unit (ICU) and the post holder will occasionally be expected to work at the other sites. The service covers four hospitals/ICUs ; Bognor Regis War Memorial Hospital, Zachary Merton Hospital, Salvington Lodge and Arundel Hospital.

They will also be required to support service developments, and show flexibility when adapting to change.

The service covers six/seven days a week.

**As a member of the team you will have the opportunity to**:

- Receive support from other therapy colleagues
- Receive clinical supervision from registered therapists
- Participate in the in-service learning programme
- Develop your practice, relevant to the team
- Participate in competency development through the Calderdale Framework
- Support development of other staff outside of your professional group
- Assist in shaping the future clinical practice of the therapy team

We are looking for someone who likes working with people and is reliable, flexible and adaptable in their work. Previous experience as a Therapy Assistant or similar is desirable, and applicants should have experience of delivering care and/or rehabilitation to older people with various needs.

- Assist the physiotherapy and occupational therapy staff in the treatment of specific patients
- Have their own delegated patient caseload and clinical duties
- Supervise exercise programmes and practise activities of daily living under the guidance of a therapist
- Assess and treat patients according to protocols, monitoring their progression and making minor alterations to their treatment programmes as required
- Work without direct supervision, reporting back patient progress and informing the therapist of any problems
- Prepare and keep treatment areas and equipment clean and tidy
