Industrial Sewing Machinist

We are currently seeking a skilled Sewing Machinist to work remotely making items for our clothing brand based in Ringwood, Hampshire. It would be piece work with technical specifications supplied, alongside initial tutorial on how to make specific garments. Previous industrial sewing experience and garment construction required. Industrial sewing machine and overlocker supplied.

**Shift/salary**:

- Remote
- Minimum 8 hours per week
- Paid by piece
- Initial training given

**The role**:

- Operate industrial sewing machines to stitch fabric pieces together, following specific patterns or instructions.
- Ensure the accurate and precise stitching of têxtile products, paying attention to details such as seam allowances, stitch length, and tension.
- Perform routine maintenance on sewing machines to ensure their optimal functionality.
- Inspect finished products for quality and consistency, making any necessary adjustments or repairs.
- Previous experience as a Sewing Machinist or in a similar role is necessary
- Proficiency in operating industrial sewing machines, including the ability to thread, adjust tensions, and change needles. Both straight stitch and overlocker.
- Strong knowledge of different types of stitches and sewing techniques.
- Attention to detail and the ability to produce consistent, high-quality work.
- Familiarity with different fabrics and their properties.
- Ability to read and interpret sewing patterns and technical instructions.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Strong communication skills.

**Salary**: From £12.50 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 8 per week
