- Job Title: Stores Operative
- Location: Horsham, West Sussex
- Contract: Temporary - ongoing (performance based potential to become permanent for the right applicant after a temp period of up to 26 weeks)
- Pay: £12.50ph - £13.50ph dependent on prior experience.
- Hours: 8am to 5pm from Mon - Thurs and 8am to 1pm on Friday's
- We are seeking a Stores Operative to join our client within an established team in Horsham. As a pivotal member of daily operations, your duties may include various tasks to support warehouse activities and material handling processes.
- **Key responsibilities include**:
- Use internal inventory management systems to receive, document, and track incoming materials and supplies.- Ensure precise and orderly storage of materials within the warehouse.- Keep inventory levels optimal and conduct regular stock audits.- Organise and label storage areas for easy access.- Implement effective shelving and storage solutions to use space efficiently.- Collaborate with the quality team to uphold high standards for incoming materials.- Organise material orders and deliveries in line with project requirements.- Work closely with the production team to fulfil supply needs and meet order schedules.- Keep track of stock levels to support subcontractors and suppliers with materials as needed.- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the warehouse environment.- Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with best practices in material handling.- Identify and report safety hazards or maintenance requirements promptly.- Operate machinery including but not limited to forklifts and pump trucks to load/unload deliveries and arrange pallets on racking (training will be supplied for the right applicant). This is not a forklift role, this is just one of the duties within this role as that will also involve not only the duties shown above, some duties may be physically demanding so please consider this before applying.**Requirements**:
- A clean Full UK Driving License is required as you may have to use machinery on public roads between sites within the industrial estate.- Previous forklift experience is preferable, although training will be provided to any successful applicants if needed. (Counterbalance and Reach are used on site)- Experience in a warehouse or stores role is beneficial. However, we welcome any applicants who can demonstrate reliability and commitment with consistent work history and a willingness to learn will be equally considered. (Authorisation for Pertemps to collect references from any previous employers may be requested to verify)- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to shifting priorities.- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.- Fluent in English both written and spoken.- IT skills/knowledge required to navigate internal systems.- Knowledge of manual handling and safety procedures with a commitment to keeping a safe workplace.- Physically fit as you may be required to lift products up to 25kg unassisted.**Benefits**:
