Social Media, Marketing Engagement Worker

Birchwood provides essential support and accommodation services for vulnerable people at critical points in their lives. Our services encompass mental health support, homelessness prevention, social inclusion, and community engagement through various programs such as counselling, mediation, housing and homelessness support, therapeutic accommodation, employment support, and wellbeing behaviour change activities.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**- Social Media Management**:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive social media approach to raise awareness about the Birchwood’s services and activities.
- Track and analyse key metrics to measure the effectiveness of promotional and recruitment marketing efforts, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions to optimize engagement and reach.
- Take very high quality photographs, videos and other media images for social media content.
- Create engaging content for various social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
- Monitor social media trends and adapt strategies to maximise impact.
- Respond to comments, messages, and inquiries on social media channels in a timely and professional manner.
**- Marketing and Promotion**:
- Design and implement marketing campaigns to promote the Birchwood Centre’s events, services, and initiatives.
- Develop promotional materials including flyers, brochures, and newsletters.
- Manage the Birchwood’s website content to ensure it is up-to-date and engaging.
- Maintain visibility of Birchwood through community involvement, such as participating in clean-up events and volunteer activities.
- Produce high quality written, photography and videos to inform potential clients about the services that Birchwood provides
**- Funders and donors**:
- Ensure that donations are acknowledged publicly and social media posts to thank donors
- Ensure regular feedback and positive posts to show all funders the impact and outcomes of the contracts and grants received.
- Help to build positive relationships with local community members, organisations, and service providers to foster collaboration and support for Birchwood Charity Skelmersdale's mission.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, progress, and outcomes in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.
**- Recruitment Marketing**:
- Develop and implement approaches to attract high quality managerial and administrative staff.
- Develop and implement approaches to attract suitable support workers from the local community at small neighbourhood levels in Skelmersdale.
- Engage with local schools, colleges, and community groups to promote available opportunities.
- Coordinate recruitment drives and informational sessions to increase volunteer participation.
- Utilise online platforms such as social media, forums e.g Skem First etc as well as Indeed to advertise opportunities.
- Work with the Chief Executive to develop a referral scheme for support worker vacancies from current support workers and Birchwood staff.
- Host information sessions to educate the local community about support worker roles at Birchwood and the benefits.
- Work with local schools, West Lancashire College etc to recruit any parents or guardians or college health and social care students who might be interested.
**- Event Coordination**:
- Plan, organise, and execute charity events and community outreach programs as requested by the Chief Executive.
- Collaborate with local businesses, volunteers, and stakeholders to ensure successful event outcomes.
- Manage event logistics, from budgeting to on-the-day coordination and post-event evaluation.
**- Community Engagement**:
- Assist in fostering relationships with community organisations, local businesses, and media outlets.
- Represent Birchwood at community events and networking opportunities if requested to do so by the Chief Executive.
- Gather and respond to community feedback to improve the Centre’s outreach efforts.
**Qualifications & Experience**:
- Relevant Qualification and/or proven experience in social media management, digital marketing.
- Strong organizational and event planning skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for community service and engagement.
- Knowledge of the non-profit sector and issues related to mental health, homelessness, and social inclusion is desirable.
