Wolverhampton, United Kingdom City of Wolverhampton Council Full time

Job Introduction
**Approved Mental Health Professional Advanced Practitioner**

**Salary - £49,498 to £53,630 (Grade 8)**

**Contract type - full time, permanent post**

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced AMHP to join the City of Wolverhampton Council’s AMHP Hub. The hub operates 24 hours a day, 7 days per week (including Bank Holidays) and the AMHP Advanced Practitioners contribute to both weekday and out of hours shifts to promote a consistent and collaborative approach. We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and skilled AMHP who will work hard and to high standards. This is an exciting and challenging role working in our culturally rich and diverse city.

The AMHP Hub consists of 5 AMHP Advanced Practitioners, who take a shared management approach to ensuring the delivery of a high quality and effective AMHP service in the city. They consider requests for, and undertake, assessments under the Mental Health Act (MHA) 1983 (as amended 2007) as well as maintaining a sophisticated knowledge and expertise in established, and emergent, areas relevant to the field of AMHP practice.

The grade of post recognises the autonomous nature of the role, and the requirement for lone working out of hours, as well as responsibility for the running of the hub, formulating rotas, and providing supervision to other AMHPs. Additionally, the AMHP hub post holders take a professional practice lead in developing co-operative working relations with other social care teams and external partners, and participate in policy formulation for the service.
- be a qualified AMHP with at least two years’ recent post-qualifying experience
- meet the professional requirements and key competences of an AMHP as outlined in The Mental Health (Approved Mental Health Professionals) (Approval) (England) Regulations 2008
- have completed at least 18 hours of training, per year of their qualification, relevant to their role as an AMHP
- have experience of Adult Safeguarding
- have a good working knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act & Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.

In return we offer:

- the opportunity of working in a supportive and innovative team
- regular supervision and collaborative working
- regular Team Meetings and AMHP Forums
- excellent training and continuing professional development opportunities.

For further information, and to view the rota, please contact Karen Chance (Mental Health Service Manager) on 07771 836019 or Doreen Dove (AMHP Lead) on 07779 975102.

**Our working arrangements**

All council roles are allocated to either a fixed, field or flexible work style. Some roles are agile which enable and empowers employees to maximise their performance and productivity, whilst maintaining a healthy work life balance. Roles with a fixed workstyle work in a fixed permanent council location. Roles with a field workstyle are usually allocation where employees are required to be out working in the community with a minimum requirement for 'touch down' space at any council location. Roles with a flexible workstyle have a flexible base location to meet the needs of the business and employees can work from a mixture of home or any council office, partner/client, or external location, as required to meet service requirements.
