Radiotherapy Physics Education and Training Officer

Are you an experienced Treatment Planning Radiographer,Dosimetrist, Clinical Scientist or an experienced healthcare (Radiotherapy) educator and looking for a new challenge? An exciting opportunity has arisen in Radiotherapy Physics within the Kent Oncology Centre. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individual for a full-time permanent position within the Radiotherapy Physics team across the Maidstone and Canterbury sites.
Kent Oncology Centre currently has nine Varian linear accelerators across the two sites each with dedicated CT-Simulators. We have Eclipse for treatment planning with RapidArc VMAT, IGRT, vDIBH and SABR Lung in routine use. This is an exciting time to join our team as we embark on a programme of SABR expansion and further expand the use of Eclipse as our principle Treatment Planning System. We have recently commissioned a Philips BigBore RT CT and two Halcyon machines at Maidstone.
Depending on skills and experience we would consider appointing at a lower band and would provide development milestones. We also consider flexible working with the expectation of supporting the working hours of service.
As a Radiotherapy Physics Education and Training Officer you will be responsible for developing and managing the education and training for the Radiotherapy Physics teams, including Planning Radiographers, Dosimetrists, Clinical Scientists and other healthcare professionals. This will cover induction of new staff, any pre and post registration training needs, task specific training to obtain competency, maintenance of skills and knowledge through CPD.
In this role you will be leading the training programme for all staff and developing and maintaining records to ensure compliance with legislation and regulatory requirements. You will liaise and work closely with the Radiotherapy Physics leads, HEIs, appropriate regulatory and professional bodies and other Trust departments to facilitate and support training needs.
Depending on your own particular skills and interests and the future requirements of the service we will actively encourage and support you to develop your role through postgraduate training and role extension.
