**Job description**
**Background**
- The School of Engineering, Technology and Design has been awarded £100K Diversity Impact Project by Royal Academy Engineers.
- The project is to develop an EDI engineering employability learning toolkit that has the potential for wide HEI adoption. Ethnicity, gender and low socioeconomic grouping are known to influence engineering students’ employment prospects. In particular, female, Black and Asian engineering graduates are significantly less likely to secure engineering graduate roles. The toolkit will build upon the Canterbury Christ Church University Future 360 Framework. The toolkit will support Christ Church University students by improving their immediate and long-term social capital and employability. By working closely with EqualEngineers and other stakeholders to research and develop the toolkit, the final product ultimately enable students to showcase their engineering talent both their technical and employability skills through use of LinkedIn. The toolkit will be deployed within the university and evaluated across all stakeholders in terms of engagement and impact on employability using qualitative and quantitative methods.
**The role will involve**:
- Undertaking research to co-create with project team and stakeholders for EDI Engineering Toolkit.
- Designing and developing the EDI Engineering Toolkit (to include elements of interactive vignettes) with project team and stakeholders using agile sprints technique.
- Support the pilot deployment with project team.
- Evaluate with project team the use of and engagement in the toolkit within student, academic, and professional services
- Research with the project team a sustainable faculty infrastructure to support and manage student employability progression.
**The skills required by role**:
- Good communication skills to support activities of interviewing, generation toolkit copy, and video presenting
- Teamworking to work well and closely with all project team
- Digital Literacy and confidence technology to support project activities
- Proactive to support the identification, research, development of project elements.
- Flexibility, and adaptability to support project evolution as the project progresses
- Organisation, time and project management to ensure daily activities, monthly, quarterly activities are delivered.
- The role will be supported with appropriate continued professional development. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to Engineering Education research and employability of minority students in engineering profession.
