**What you’ll do**:

- Pursue independent research projects.
- Train graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in light microscopy and molecular genetic methods.
- Evaluate new techniques and technology as requested.
- Research the scientific literature for methods optimization and for the conceptual background of projects.
- Operate and help maintain sophisticated microscopes.
- Provide general research project support to other team members.

**What you bring**:

- Ph.D. in biomedical sciences with experience in microscopy and image analysis is required.
- Strong computer skills, including demonstrated proficiency in image analysis software such as ImageJ and basic AI methods.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to use good judgment in working independently.
- Sense of self-motivation, flexibility, integrity, and ability to work in a diverse environment with people from a wide variety of backgrounds.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical skills, and high attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Compensation Range:_

Research Specialist I - $67,540 (minimum) - $84,400 (midpoint) - $109,780 (maximum)

Research Specialist II - $78,870 (minimum) - $98,500 (midpoint) - $128,040 (maximum)

Pay Type: Annual

**Physical Requirements**

Remaining in a normal seated or standing position for extended periods of time; reaching and grasping by extending hand(s) or arm(s); dexterity to manipulate objects with fingers, for example using a keyboard; communication skills using the spoken word; ability to see and hear within normal parameters; ability to move about workspace. The position requires mobility, including the ability to move materials weighing up to several pounds (such as a laptop computer or tablet). Work may involve possible exposure to malodorous vapors, low dose radiation, contamination by toxic chemicals and acids and presence of carcinogenic substances or other hazardous materials.
