Please note the salary is pro rata for three days a week.

Due to recent restructuring and promotion in the Finance and Operations team, we are looking for an experienced Finance Assistant to join us.

The team supports both Reach Church and Reach Events, our wholly-owned events business. Reach Events is one of Derby’s largest, premier events venues with a huge conferencing banqueting hall, eight training rooms, a café-bar and a coworking space. 100% of Reach Events’ profits go back into the church and its ministries.
- Process incoming funds, including taking responsibility for Sunday collections.
- Analyse, prepare and upload financial data into financial systems.
- Prepare and issue payments to suppliers etc.
- Financial and cash management tasks including but not limited to:

- Accounts payable
- Accounts receivable
- Petty Cash management and bookkeeping
- Ensure full compliance with all processes.
- Handle confidential, sensitive personal and financial information.
- Assist with electronic filing and record keeping e.g. personnel documents, and accounts payable.
- Support the Head of Finance and the Senior Leadership Team in a range of finance tasks and projects in order to improve Reach’s financial operations e.g. assist in developing Reach’s ongoing financial processing and reporting functions.
- Contribute to the wider efforts of the Finance and Operations team by working flexibly across the team when required.
- Adhering to tight deadlines.
- Creating effective relationships and building trust with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with financial standards and controls.
- Furthering the aims and objectives of Reach
- Participating fully in other Reach meetings, including prayer meetings, training and activities arranged centrally or by other teams where appropriate
- Undertaking other duties in the organisation to help when required

**Essential Core Skills and Experience**
- Highly numerate
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Experience in using Finance software packages
- Good attention to detail to enter correct data into financial records and recognise errors.
- Understanding of information security and practices.
- Excellent communicator, written and oral.
- Able to work in a team and relate well with a diverse range of people. Good interpersonal and customer service skills for dealing with church members, senior leadership team and suppliers.
- Able to work to deadlines

**Knowledge**
- Understanding of essentials of bookkeeping standards and accounting standards

**Experience**
- Finance Administration
- Processing financial data (payments, invoices, income and receipts) into financial systems and databases
- Reconciling bank accounts and handling petty cash.
- Use of accounting software systems and online banking systems

**Qualifications**
- GCSE or equivalent Maths and English, grade C or above (or another equivalent)
