- The Student Achievement and Success Lecturer will play a pivotal role in supporting the academic growth and attainment of all BNU students. This will be achieved through the adoption of a learner-centred approach, using a variety of in-person and online formats, to deliver efficient, engaging and evidenced-based learning development and academic skills enhancement interventions and opportunities. The post holder will practise an inclusive, innovative and non-deficit model approach to learning development and support, building an inclusive university community committed to equality and diversity and where people can be themselves and thrive. The post holder will be part of the Student Learning and Achievement team and contribute to the wider work of the Directorate for Student Success and the University.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Job Title**: Lecturer in Student Achievement and Success**School/Directorate**: Directorate of Student Success**Grade**: G**Location**: Uxbridge, with travel to other campuses as required**Responsible to**: Student Achievement and Success Lead**Job Purpose**:

- Teach and support students by adopting a learner-centred approach, delivering a first-class student experience.
- Undertake research, professional practice and enterprise activity as outlined within the BNU Academic Framework
- Be a team-player and contribute to the wider work of the School and University
- Practice an inclusive approach and support building an inclusive university community where people can be themselves

**Main Duties & Responsibilities of the role**:
**Education**:

- Design and deliver high quality, innovative and inclusive learning experiences in a range of formats, using current theory and practice in academic skills and learning development.
- Liaise with academic colleagues in the Schools to ensure interventions continue to meet students’ academic skills development needs and to advise on curriculum development matters
- Contribute to the student experience - demonstrating an awareness of the need for ‘customer focus’ in respect of resolving issues and ensuring students are appropriately supported.
- Implement and monitor running of systems for tracking, monitoring and supporting students
- Support the creation and regular updating of education and training materials for delivery by the role holder or other team members, ensuring content and delivery format (in person, online or blended) is clear, fit for purpose, meets the objectives of the intervention and is readily available to students and staff
- Provide effective feedback, support and guidance to students, which promotes improvement of learning and performance.
- Deliver pastoral care and liaise with other areas of the Directorate/University and make onward referrals as required.
