**Job Duties**:

- Monitor social media platforms for breaking, feature and trending news stories
- Interview eyewitnesses for breaking news stories
- Find, verify and report on user-generated content (UGC)
- Publish daily team digest reports for internal distribution throughout NBC News
- Collaborate with NBC News digital and television units on newsgathering, social media and storytelling initiatives

**Qualifications** Basic**:

- At least one year working in a role that includes the use of social media at either a news operation or agency with a focus on news and storytelling
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent
- Must be willing to regularly work evenings/late hours and weekends
- Must be willing to work in London on a hybrid schedule, coming into the office at least three days a week.

**Desired**:

- Demonstrated ability to use social media to discover stories
- Experience using data to inform and improve social newsgathering
- Demonstrated desire to work in a creative, demanding environment
- Native curiosity on a variety of topics, and desire to look far and wide for good stories
- Experience covering breaking news in deadline-driven environments
- Strong communication skills, as well as attention to detail
- Ability to write content that is ready for publishing
- Foreign language skills
