**Principal Ecologist - Nutrient Neutrality - West Berkshire Council**

**3 - 6+ Month Ongoing Contract**

**Essentials**:

- Experience of delivering ecology advice on complex issues

**Job Role**:

- To protect and enhance the District’s natural environment through the provision of specialist technical support and advice to the Development and Regulation Service on ecology matters, including on Biodiversity Net Gain and Nutrient Neutrality.
- Take a leading role in the provision of ecology services within the Council, including on Biodiversity Net Gain and Nutrient Neutrality.
- Responsible for the development, training, motivation, monitoring of performance and discipline of Senior Officers (Grade I tbc) and Ecology Officers (Grade G-H tbc)

including annual appraisals and regular one to one meetings to ensure effective service delivery and that corporate and service objectives are met.
