Purchasing Assistant

An amazing opportunity has arisen at Van-Line Ltd, based at our Head Office in Leeds. Working in a team of 4, a position of Purchasing Assistant has arisen.
**MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE**
Execute inventory control measures to ensure the company minimizes stock holding, maintains the required level of availability and maximizes stock system and paperwork accuracy.
The role carries responsibility for working in purchasing with close working relations with goods inwards and dispatch to ensure necessary functions are carried out correctly.
**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- To process Purchase orders accurately;
- To ensure that orders are received according to the relevant purchase order and that stock is correct;
- To ensure that delivery notes are reconciled with purchase orders and that any shortages are actioned in a timely and efficient manner.
- To maintain the required stock levels whilst controlling costs within budgetary limits;.
- To manage and maintain the company’s material and stocked product inventory;
- Ensure that products are ready and available for production as and when required.
- Ensure that all incoming product is receipted and managed appropriately according to company procedure;
- Ensure that any materials that are late or holding up production for whatever reason are chased and followed up until received;
- Provide routine management information on inventory performance;
- Monitor and evaluate consumables usage and costs to maintain the order quantity process;
- Executing the return of faulty goods or incorrect deliveries to suppliers ensuring that stock is being held in the appropriate warehouse until task is completed;
- Make a valued contribution to the Van-Line QMS by working towards continual improvement in the role
**Other Responsibilities**
- Be responsible for the accuracy of relevant levels of stock with a constant regard for stock taking, ensuring that all system information is executed accurately
- To assist in all other areas of Purchasing and Operations when required
**KEY COMPETENCIES / ATTRIBUTES**
- A high standard of Excel;
- A knowledge of Sage;
- Excellent organisational skills;
- Good communication skills both verbally and written;
- A drive to achieve and maintain targets
- Basic understanding of budgetary limitations;
- Ability to produce accurate reports;
- Ability to manage control measures to ensure that mistakes, inaccuracies and discrepancies are highlighted, addressed and resolved;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
