**BW Legal are recruiting for a Purchase Ledger and Finance Assistant to join our Finance Department.**

At BW Legal, the Finance team is an important partner and advisor to the business. Reporting into the Head of Finance, you will ensure the efficient running of our purchase ledger process, as well as provide support across the wider Management Accounts team.

**Working within the Management Accounts team, your responsibilities will include**:

- Accurately and promptly processing supplier invoices
- Ensuring timely payments to suppliers, adhering to our approval processes
- Overseeing new supplier setup following the company finance policy
- Ensuring adherence with company policies
- Monthly reconciling supplier accounts, and acting as the primary contact for supplier queries
- Handling day-to-day company purchases, such as stationery
- Generating and distributing weekly reports
- Reconciling and posting daily banking transactions
- Processing and verifying petty cash and expense claims
- Checking and processing corporate card reconciliations
- Producing and presenting reports for approval as needed
- Assisting with Month End and Year End closing activities to meet deadlines

**We ask you to have the following experience, skills and attributes**:

- A minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a finance department, either in a sole role or as part of a wider finance team, demonstrating your involvement in the purchase ledger function.
- Competence in Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrable experience of monthly supplier reconciliations and relationship management
- Ability to be self-motivated and manage supplier queries through to resolution
- Ability to accurately maintain purchase ledger records, filing and documenting as per our finance policy
- Good communication skills to support both our suppliers and internal colleagues
- Team player and quality driven

**While not essential, the following experience and skills are desirable**:

- Advanced capabilities in Microsoft Excel, such as VLOOKUPs and Pivot tables
- Knowledge or understanding of our regulators, including the SRA, ICO, or FCA
- Knowledge or understanding of Anti Money Laundering
- Experience of working within a Legal or financial services sector

Your working hours will be 30 per week, 6 hours per day, 9am-3pm or 10am-4pm, Monday to Friday.

With a starting salary of £22,000-£24,000 depending on your skills and experience, you will also benefit from regular performance-based reviews which reward your success with a clear progression path for future earnings.
