**Laboratory Assistant**

**We are currently seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team in our Bromborough, Merseyside office.**

**This is a dual role between the Media Production & Chemistry Departments.**

**Pay to be discussed at point of interview.**

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform routine laboratory tasks and perform special projects as directed by management.
- Prepare and maintain laboratory supplies, including: lab equipment, reagents, consumables, and supplies.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness and maintain laboratory records.
- Maintain inventory of lab supplies and consumables.
- Prepare samples for testing as directed by management.
- Other relevant duties as assigned by management.

**Media Production**:

- Management of Media stocks of both pre prepared and made up media
- Preparation of Media for use in the Lab and for client orders
- QC inoculation and Passing of all media made in housed and purchased externally
- Maintenance of comprehensive media QC records
- Keeping controlled document records compliant with ISO17025 relating to media
- Assisting Deputy QM in internal calibrations and upkeep of equipment records
- Cross checking month end data prior to reports preparation
- Cleaning & maintaining of laboratory & equipment.

**Chemistry Departments**:

- Perform analytical chemistry tests such as titrations, metal & non-metal testings, pH, Turbidity & other general chemistry tests.
- Cleaning & maintaining of laboratory & equipment.
- In house calibration of equipment.
- Sample preparation for ICP digestion.

Must be able to work independently with mínimal supervision. Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of management and other employees. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of attention to detail.
