**Job summary**:

- Based primarily at the information point you will support our customers by providing information, maps, and support the operation of the Car Parking systems.**Job description**:

- Welcoming visitors is at the heart of this role and you’ll be responsible for ensuring that you provide an excellent service to all our visitors, every day.
- As a Visitor Services Assistant it is your role to ensure support our customers through their visitor journey.
- Ensuring that visitors are welcomed, and they are provided with the right information to help them get the best experience out of their visit.
- You will operate our ANPR Car Parking System and report to the Visitor Services Manager.
- You’ll be responsible for answering queries and making sure visitors can find everything they need for during their visit.
- Through your excellent service visitors will be inspired to support Forestry England through annual membership and return visits.**Person specification**:

- Person Specification- Provide engaging customer service and information point selling merchandise and Forestry England membership as well as provide advice and information to visitors which adds value to their experience
- Be able to manage customer enquiries related to the car park payment system and membership using our IT systems
- Follow cash handling procedures to ensure money taken during the day is currently managed
- Support the wider team with regular litter picking to ensure the site is welcome and safe
- Use a range of IT systems and software to record relevant information
- Support the recreation team on event delivery by both Forestry England and third parties, assisting where necessary
- Be prepared to respond to minor and serious incidents and know what procedures to follow. Record accidents, incidents and near misses using Eco-online

Desirable qualities:
- Relevant experience of working at an outdoor recreation or tourism attraction
- Relevant experience in delivering quality customer service

**Further Information**

The role is being advertised as permanent part time (34.4 hrs), the role will require working weekends, school holidays and public holidays. Your working week would include working every weekend, the remaining working days are to be discussed. However applicants who wish to work an alternative pattern are welcome to apply. However your preferred working pattern may not be available and you should discuss this with the vacancy holder before applying.

It is desirable for the applicant to have a full current driving licence that enables them to drive in the UK. Forestry England is willing to consider any proposals put forward by applicants that would allow them to do the job by any other means.

A reserve list may be held for a period of 12 months from which further appointments can be made.

If successful and transferring from another Government Department a criminal record check may be carried out.

New entrants are expected to join on the minimum of the pay band.
