**Job Summary**:
As a Finance Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the finance team in various financial and accounting tasks. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks like preparation of month end accounting journals, looking after bank transactions and reconciliation, statutory returns and supporting purchase ledger entries. You will collaborate with accountants to ensure accurate and compliant financial operations.

**Responsibilities**:

- Contribute to the preparation of financial statements and management reports as needed.
- Preparation, analysis and posting of a variety of month end journals including stock journal.
- Reconciling bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns.
- Assist in maintaining accurate financial records by recording and processing day-to-day transactions, including purchase invoices, bank receipts and payments.
- Data entry control. Ensure correct and consistent records are maintained to assist tracking business costs for budgeting and financial analysis.
- Statutory returns submission to ensure legal compliance.
- Ensure adherence to accounting standards and company policies.
- Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial processes and suggest improvements.
- Work as part of the finance team to support colleagues and contribute to team objectives.
- Assist in various ad-hoc financial projects and assignments as required.
- Undertake additional duties as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Relevant accounting qualifications (ATI etc.) /part qualified.
- A minimum of 2 years' previous experience in a similar role.
- Competent experience using Sage Accounts.
- Sound working knowledge of Microsoft office especially Excel.
- Detail-oriented with a willingness to learn.
- Good communication skills and a problem-solving mindset.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.

**Salary**: £21,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
