**The Vacancy**

**Up to 3 Months (with possibility of extension)**

We are looking for Archaeologist to work on two exciting London site, both with interesting and unique Roman archaeology.

MOLA is a well-established and innovative archaeological organisation and one of the leading voices within the profession. Our expert commercial services support clients in their sustainable development and we conduct highly significant research both as part of the development process and independently within our own framework.

As a charity where education is at our forefront, our aim is to inspire people to be curious about their heritage as we set out to share our knowledge and information with the widest audience possible.

We are looking for people to join us who are passionate about delivering quality heritage services and about using archaeology as a force for good to benefit society.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

MOLA is continuing to grow at a fast pace, and we are looking to recruit hard-working and enthusiastic Archaeologists to join our London field team. MOLA has a policy of mentoring and training staff at all levels in order to develop individual capabilities and enhance career prospects, with opportunities for internal advancement and promotion, as well as developing specialist skills.

We have a number of exciting projects of all sizes, covering different types of archaeology, ongoing or due to start imminently. Our teams are currently working on infrastructure, residential and commercial developments. Examples of projects include:

- A large multi-period site in central London, including burials
- A post-medieval site in north London
- A project with predominantly prehistoric archaeology in East Anglia.

The role primarily involves excavating and recording archaeology of various periods on a range of site
- and project-types, in line with MOLA procedures. Training may be provided to use a GPS to record archaeological features, and there may be opportunities to contribute to post-excavation processes as well.

The role will be contracted to the MOLA London office, with work taking place on sites within the city and further afield. Flexibility to travel to and work on MOLA projects around and outside London is essential, and subsistence and accommodation costs are provided in line with MOLA policy.

**We are looking for people with**:

- Experience of archaeological recording systems and fieldwork, especially on commercial projects and even better if that experience includes urban sites;
- Good organisational, communication and teamwork skills;
- A valid CSCS card;
- A commitment to creating a safe, positive, and inclusive work environment;
