**Introduction**:
Queen Ethelburga’s is set in more than 220 acres of beautiful North Yorkshire countryside, on the Thorpe Underwood Estate. **Department Purpose**

Queen Ethelburga’s operates term-time academic courses for students aged 3 months to 19 years, in addition to a range of short courses and holiday clubs offered during school holiday periods. Facilities are also available for booking by external organisations.

The Admissions, Marketing and Student Engagement team is responsible for the recruitment and retention of UK and international students, for all programmes detailed above. It also takes responsibility for all marketing and mass communication, always making sure that marketing is demonstrably linked to both the needs of the organisation and the expectations of our UK and international markets. The team leads with ensuring that alumni and other relevant commercial organisations are fully engaged with life at Queen Ethelburga’s, developing these networks for the benefit of all in the QE community. Finally, widening participation is a key focus of the organisation and the team is expected to work with relevant stakeholders, in order to support students from a wide range of backgrounds, so that they are able to benefit from the opportunities provided by Queen Ethelburga’s.

The team works closely with the Corporate Strategic Team and the Collegiate Leadership Team in order to ensure the financial sustainability of the Collegiate from year to year.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

Working closely with the Registrar and Marketing Team, this role is responsible for the brand design of QE collateral, with creativity, impact and functionality at the forefront of all marketing material. You will be responsible for producing online and offline content. You will write engaging and impactful copy for a variety of marketing purposes.

The postholder will:

- Approach marketing design work with a fresh eye, taking the QE brand to the next level
- Present innovative solutions to design problems and work to enhance the visual identity of Queen Ethelburga’s
- Design a variety of event materials, display materials, print and digital design
- Write punchy, grammatically correct, excellent copy as and when required for all purposes including editorial, marketing material, the website and social media
- Act as an ambassador for the QE brand. Ensure guidelines are adhered to both in the production of in-house design work and when working alongside partner organisations. Ensure guidelines are adhered to both in the production of in-house design work and when working across the Collegiate.
- Maintain levels of quality and consistency across the Collegiate
- Responsible for the annual cycle of publication redesign and prospectus updates, working with the Marketing and Communications Manager
- Work closely with colleagues throughout the Collegiate in support of their requirements for design services. Offer proactive advice to help them deliver for their individual / collective projects.
- Continual monitoring of market sector insights and competitor activity
- Ensure that the needs of the Student Recruitment/Student Engagement Officers, the Sales Representatives, and the Alumni Officer are met with events, activities and projects that they are required to run.
- Have excellent graphic design skills and strong Adobe knowledge (and CANVA too)
- Have excellent copywriting skills
- Must be able to demonstrate skills via a portfolio
- Good knowledge of Microsoft software

**Support for Collegiate**
- Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to the appropriate person
- Ensure that the organisation’s security and courtesy procedures are followed with regards to visitors
- Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of Queen Ethelburga’s
- Participate in training as required
- Promote Queen Ethelburga’s and its staff and students positively at all times
