**POSITION**:Sustainability Apprentice

**SALARY**:£22,000 per annum

**WORKING HOURS**:35 hours per week, Monday to Friday

**APPRENTICESHIP QUALIFICATION**

As part of the apprenticeshippackage, you will be able to complete a fully-funded apprenticeship qualification and achieve a level 3 diploma in business administration. We will provide dedicated support within your working hours for your learning & “on the job” experience with the opportunity to gain a permanent role at the end of the apprenticeship.. The level 3 diploma in business administration apprenticeship qualification is designed for you to enhance your existing skills and provide you with knowledge & confidence to excel in your role & learn new skills to develop professionally. The apprenticeship duration is approximately 14 - 24 months & once the qualification is complete, you will continue in the role on a permanent basis.

If you do not have the equivalent GCSE’s or other diploma’s, then alongside the level 3 diploma in business administration you can complete the level 2 functional skills in Maths, English & ICT as part of this package.

**ABOUT THE JOB**

This is an exciting & new opportunity within the HSQE department & offers a great progression opportunity. You will be supporting the HSQE Manager to drive sustainability through the business, collate data, analyse progress, and communicate results both internally and externally to clients and relevant stakeholders.

Your duties would include but are not limited to:

- Supporting with maintaining sustainability data capture systems and information streams and improving data accuracy.
- Supporting with stakeholder, material projects in support of Better Places and ZeroBy30 strategies.
- Supporting with measuring company performance across various sustainability issues like climate change, biodiversity and comparing it with our competitors.
- Supporting with responses to questions for RFP, PQQ and Tenders
- Make suggestions to improve data capture techniques and analysis.
- Support Planet Mark quarterly and annual certification and Net Zero data submissions.
- Aid in the analysis of new development in sustainability best practice e.g. frameworks or initiatives
- Liaising with service partners to build a detailed materials or service database to demonstrate due diligence in support of our Sustainable Procurement Policy.
- Provide administrative support for the HSQE team as directed by the HSQE Manager.

**ABOUT YOU**

This is a colleague facing role, you will need to be diplomatic, tactful, confidential, discreet and have the ability to provide exceptional customer service.
- A high standard of verbal and written English and Maths (at least GCSE A to C grade)
- Proactive with excellent time management (works in line with deadlines)
- Excellent communicator ensuring information is clear and concise
- Creative, engaging, ability to plan and organise efficiently with acute attention to detail
- Manage conflicting tasks with the ability to prioritise
- Pro-active with the ability to research and make suggestions for improvements/initiatives
- Proficient with Microsoft Office package
