**My client a growing IT/AV consultancy based in Central London, are looking to recruit a Network Design Consultant to come on board and join there rapidly growing team.**

**The role of the Network Design Consultant is to primarily focus on providing Network consultancy advisory services, detailed designs, cost estimates and construction administration services in relation to the delivery of ICT Network systems including;LAN, WLAN, Network Security, Firewalls, WAN and network management solutions.**

**Role and Responsibilities (included but not limited to)**:

- Development of designs, reports, specifications, budgets and equipment schedules in line with RIBA Stages
- Defining the relevant network technologies to meet the client business, operational and performance requirements
- Identify the network services that the customer requires to be deployed, e.g. LAN, WLAN.
- Define and detail how each technology will be used, who will be the main users, the expected number of users or specific user groups and any other specific requirements that will drive the configuration of each systems design.
- Capacity planning for network configurations and network sizing and WLAN signal coverage requirements.**

**Required Skills & Attributes
- Knowledge of Local Area Network; traditional vs. fabric architectures, software defined networking, IPv4 & IPv6 design, IP multicast design, interior & exterior gateway protocol design (e.g. routing protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), macro & micro networksegmentation (e.g. VRFs, VLANs, policy based access), QoS Schemas, network automation/orchestration & programmability, network management & monitoring.
- Good understanding of Wide Area Network; e.g. MPLS, SD-WAN, Public Cloud Integration (e.g. Azure, AWS, GCP), Internet & Perimeter solutions.
- Wireless Technologies; 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) and previous standards (IEEE802.11a/b/g/n/ac) and emerging standards, segregation of wireless services (e.g. corporate SSIDs vs. guest & visitor access), RF coverage/interference/capacity planning & design, wirelesscontroller design (on-premise and/or cloud), wireless authentication and encryption (e.g. WPA, WPA2 (AES), WPA3, 802.1X authentication, PSK, captive portal, etc.)
