**About the role**
As the operational lead for all CDM matters within CHL, you will provide appropriate advice, guidance, training and practical support to CHL Managers and employees. Our vision for the role is for you to be responsible for the provision of clear, consistent and quality Construction (Design and Management) Regulations and Health and Safety support in relation to all operational activities undertaken by Cornwall Housing Limited (CHL).
Some ways in which this will be achieved is by:
- Developing, implementing and evaluating CHL technical policies, procedures, guidance documents and safe systems of work.
- Assist CHL Management, undertake risk assessments, workplace inspections and manage audits.
- Planning, managing and monitoring health and safety in the pre-construction phase, including; identifying, eliminating or controlling foreseeable risks; and ensuring CHL carry out their duties
- Ensuring changes to legislation, codes of practice, that will impact on CHL policies and procedures are identified in an effective and timely manner, and ensure systems, policies and procedures are revised to accommodate such changes

**About you**
We are looking for you to bring:
- NEBOSH Certificate (Construction or general)
- Experience which validates at least Tech IOSH status
- Demonstrable experience of undertaking the Principal Designers duties and promoting a positive H&S culture
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal e.g. investigating, influencing, persuading, report writing, briefing and presentation skills
