Here at the Coal Authority, we are looking for an organised and motivated individual to join us as a **Principal Permitting Manager**. You will join us on a **full-time, permanent **basis, and In return, you will receive a competitive salary of **up to £46,125 - £50,526 per annum**.

**About the Principal Permitting Manager role**:
As a **Principal Permitting Manager,** you will effectively lead and manage the Permitting functions in partnership with the Principal Licensing Manager, Principal Mine Heat Licensing Manager and Principal Property Manager.

Using your extensive technical expertise, you’ll be advising and leading a team on:

- The execution and delivery of ca. 2,000 permits per annum across the former coal fields
- Ensuring our processes and systems are up to date and follow latest government best practice and guidance.
- Continue to develop and manage relationships with clients, partners and stakeholders across the development industry.
- Work alongside the Head of Development to identify key areas of focus and to set direction

**About our Principal Permitting Manager**:

- Degree or equivalent andcorporate membership ofa relevant professional body (MRTPI, engineering, geotechnical or similar)
- Significant experience in engineering, geotechnical engineering and Development
- Experience of managing and delivering regulatory services
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Excellent report writing skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to prioritise a high volume, detailed workload
- Good interpersonal and managerial skills
- Skilled leadership and team player
