**Job Purpose**
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure area / production line is ready by checking appropriate machines and areas are set to correct performance, food safety and hygiene standards.
- Ensure equipment is working at optimum performance levels taking corrective action where necessary.
- Conduct swift line and product changeovers through preparation, organisation and forward planning of equipment, manpower and materials.
- Using the production plan to make sure sufficient materials are available to allow continual production, optimum running and flexibility of area / line to minimise downtime and achieve the production plan.
- Advise FLM / Managers of any issues preventing the production plan being achieved.
- Carry out process control checks at set intervals ensuring adherence to specification.
- To act as a professional and trusted advisor to the First Line Manager on production and packing / distribution matters relating to the relevant area / site.

Safety
- Conduct daily line safety start up checks and complete the related paperwork, taking appropriate actions to remedy / report and faults.
- To act as a role model for safety behaviours on site and proactively deal with any safety issues and health issues reported.
- Liaise with the Management on site for any safety reasonable requests.
- Responsible for own health and safety in area in line with company procedures from handbooks, signage, induction, notifications and training documentation.
- Reporting any safety, health or environmental incidents without delay to Line Manager.
- Responsible for coaching fellow work colleagues and new members of the One Young's team on health and safety in area in line with company procedures.
- Ensuring area complies with high safety standards and takes active participation when required in health, safety and environmental audits.

Hygiene
- Responsible for clean as you go practices and good manufacturing practices in the area you are responsible for.
- Responsible for coaching fellow work colleagues and new members of the One Young's team on Hygiene practices in area in line with company procedures.
- Responsible for ensuring machinery hygiene checks are completed in line with company protocol. Reporting hygiene defects promptly to the Hygiene Department and Line Manager.
- Responsible for the active hygiene improvement of the line and the team's area in which you operate within.
- Responsible for ensuring area complies with high hygiene standards and takes active participation in hygiene and food safety audits.

Quality
- Responsible for promoting positive food safety & quality culture in the area you are work for.
- Responsible for coaching fellow work colleagues and new members of the One Young's team on positive food safety & quality culture in area in line with company procedures.
- Responsible for ensuring machinery food safety and quality checks are completed in line with company protocol contributing to a positive food safety culture. Reporting food safety critical defects promptly to the Technical Department and Line Manager.
- Ensure relevant quality and food safety paperwork is on line and completed (specifications, sample collections etc.).
- Ensure the correct samples are collected as required.
- Responsible for ensuring area complies with high food safety and quality standards taking responsibility for the quality of produce produced from area / line.

Cost
- Improve the performance of our assets to maximise value, minimise waste and reduce costs.
- Ensuring equipment and materials are fully optimised.
- Continually improve on cost improvements for the area in which you manage.
- Makes themselves aware of the daily production targets and informs Line Manager of any issues in being able to achieve these within the timeframe required.
- Drive and taking a proactive role in continuous improvement and working groups, using a team based approach guided by data and facts.
- Ensure area achieves the requires performance in line with safety and quality parameters.

People Management & Development
- Be part of empowered and fully engaged teams that are responsible and accountable for their areas and to embed a positive food safety and HSE environment.
- Feedback, coach and mentor new starters and promoted individuals.
- Feedback to the agency buddies on the performance of agency workers.
- Ensure knowledge is shared and best practice is adopted with team members, through the use and development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and One Point Lessons.

Accreditation
- To drive the line / area to produce best possible outcomes for audits and maintain audit standards year on year and deliver outstanding performance on Production & Packing quality and safety expectations.
- To ensure the food safety, legality and quality of finished goods are complied with and consider Production & Packing solutions for these.
