This position provides a vital role in ensuring the financial pathway for private patients is effectively managed, from patient registration to guaranteeing funding for a range of medical and surgical treatment and inpatient admissions.

**The post holder will**:
Respond to all standard requests for estimated hospital charges for various treatments within 48 hours. To ensure that this estimate is agreed with Accounts Manager with advice sought from the Commercial Finance Manager as required (Non-standard request within 5 working days).

To ensure that the following key functions of the Private Care Coordinators are performed in a timely manner and that all relevant information is recorded on the Trust’s Digital Health Record (DHR) and Private Care billing system (Compucare) as appropriate:
Welcoming all private patients on their arrival to the department, ensuring that the patient and their relatives are dealt with in a prompt, professional manner;
Accurately recording all new private patient registration details on to the hospital’s information system;
Establishing and confirming the payment method for each private patient i.e. self-paying, insured, sponsored;
Ensuring Pre-Authorisation is received for insured and sponsored patients prior to treatment/admission commencing;
