**Assistant Manager**

**To Manage all aspects of the business for which they are responsible, to operate and maintain the unit to ensure that profit is maximised whilst ensuring that all company and brand standards, policies and procedures are adhered to.**

To:
Maintain food and service quality and consistency in line with Company standards.
Uphold standards of quality, presentation and cleanliness throughout the restaurant. Ensure that the business is effectively managed and staffed at all times.

Complete and operate an effective business plan for the restaurant.
Ensure all equipment is used correctly in compliance with all Hygiene & Safety Regulations and Company procedures.
Deal with customers on a daily basis and in a prompt and professional manner.
Facilitate constructive feedback on suppliers to the Owner/Senior Manager.

**Financial**

To:
Maximise profitability through driving sales and controlled margins whilst maintaining company standards.
Forecast and monitor profit and loss on a weekly basis.
Deliver targets and forecast ratios.
Be responsible for the implementation of local marketing initiatives that build on and develop current sales levels.
Report accurate purchase and wage costs on a weekly basis.
Ensure that all daily, weekly and period paperwork is completed and forward to the
relevant departments.

Ensure, at all times, that the company financial controls and paperwork are adhered to and operate all transactions through the available portals.
Be responsible for the management of stock, security and wastage and implement initiatives to control any areas of concern.

**People**

To:
Ensure that the Guest receives at all times the highest standards of product, presentation and service.
Ensure all staff receive regular and prompt training in compliance with Company standards and where applicable by law.
Take responsibility for the recruitment and management of all employees whilst ensuring that all related employment legislation is adhered to.
Ensure that Company policies and statutory obligations towards the rights of employees e.g. equal opportunities, employment principles and guidelines for managers are implemented at all times.
Motivate both Management and staff teams to establish channels of communication for all Company and restaurant information.
Ensure a cascade of information through holding regular staff meetings.
Operate an ongoing succession plan for the restaurant.
Ensure that managers and staff have clear objectives and that their performance is reviewed regularly.
Establish channels of communication by holding weekly management meetings
Maintain staff discipline and take appropriate action where necessary in accordance with the Company Staff Handbook.
Be responsible for the motivation of all employees through recognition, feedback and the implementation of incentives schemes.
Actively communicate with all nominated suppliers to ensure that the products received into the business are maintained at the highest level of quality.
Communicate effectively with Head Office personnel (if applicable) or Owner/Senior Manager to ensure that relationships are maintained, and support supplied when required.

**Legislation**

To
Ensure the restaurant complies with all legislation regarding Health & Safety and Hygiene Licensing Laws.

Ensure that all employees are trained to the minimum legal requirements as stated in the Company Health & Safety manual.
Ensure the security of the premises, stock and cash.

Be responsible for the further implementation of any additional legal requirements stated by the Company or related legal authorities.
To monitor the maintenance of the premises and equipment and report recommended action to Owner/Senior Manager.

ESSENTIAL

DESIRABLE

Legally allowed to work in the UK

Hold a valid, current driving licence. Hold the National Licensees Certificate Management Degree / Diploma or equivalent
GCSE level C or equivalent in Maths & English.
Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent
Basic Health & Safety Certificate

Ability to travel to and from work.
Have the flexibility to be able to work days / evenings on each day of the week including bank holidays.
Be of reasonably good health and have sufficient stamina to work in a pressurised, physical environment.
Ability to recruit, develop and retain a team of people.

Prepared to relocate Possess your own transport Good Attendance Record

**Skills, Experience and Knowledge**

**Attributes**

Ability to converse clearly with guests and colleagues at all levels.
Have Management experience at some level. Able to fluently read instructional and procedural manuals and documentation

Numerate to a reasonable level in order to complete daily financial activities.
