**Job Description** This is a full time, permanent position working a flexible 37.5 hour week. This role can be homebased, but will require travel to Eurofins PSS Sites in the UK and Ireland.**

The purpose this role is to provide and maintain an effective and safe working environment that complies with environmental, health and safety legislation. The role will work with all levels in the PSS organisation to strengthen the EHS culture. The role will coordinate the PSS Safety Policies, Risk assessment processes and the PSS sustainability teams.
- Coordination and completion of assigned EHS projects, supporting the development of sustainable, robust and compliant EHS strategies and systems with associated policies and procedures.
- Be a visible leader of EHS initiatives and drive in EHS forums/initiatives, as well as promotion of PSS EHS Culture
- Develop and deliver EHS KPI’ s for all PSS UK and IRE sites on a monthly basis
- Report any required Safety Metrics to Eurofins Sustainability Group
- Ensure that monthly safety audits of the site are performed (in accordance with PSS On-Site Managers)
- Perform risk assessments and audits across the PSS sites on a regular basis ensuring that all site activities are being managed in line with legal and corporate requirements
- Complete investigations of EHS incidents and corrective actions in a timely manner, report to third parties as required.
- Create, update and maintain all internal safety related quality documentation working procedures and standard documents
- Highlight training requirements and improve the safety culture through training and awareness
- Monitor adherence to company policies and check effectiveness of current policies that are in place

- Carry out PSS EHS inductions, manual handling and ergonomic training as required.
- Liaise with PSS managers to ensure the correct resources are made available to support particular projects as required.
- Achieve milestone objectives as agreed on projects assigned
- Promote EHS culture and awareness within the PSS organisation through participation and clear visibility and alignment on assigned project goals, targets and achievements.
- Advise management on Environmental health and safety laws, regulations and directives which affect the company and its employees.
- Participate in Environment & Sustainability Projects throughout Europe (where required)
- Participating in PSS Team Meetings and giving updates to rest of team as necessary.
- Reviewing and improving commercial work practices. Responsible for identifying areas where efficiencies may be improved and liaising with the customer appropriately about any proposed improvements.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science related discipline
- At least 6 years’ experience in a pharmaceutical industry GMP laboratory.
- Level 6 diploma in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health & Safety
- At least 3 years’ technical experience in EHS and a proven track record of developing EHS compliance programs, with exposure to chemical and/or biological agents in the Pharmaceutical industry or related industry.
- Technical knowledge of OEL’s and product containment
- Clear understanding of the needs of cGMP
- Ability to work in a multidiscipline team but also possesses self-motivation and drive.
