Management Accountant

Location - Manchester City Centre (Hybrid)
Salary - £35,000-45,000

Our client, a well-established SME engineering business, with offices based in Manchester City Centre are looking to appoint a Management Accountant into their very friendly team. You will business partner with Senior Directors, and report to the CFO, whilst taking on a variety of responsibilities. This will suit someone ACCA/CIMA part or newly qualified.

Responsibilities include:

- Work with all departments to understand people's needs, building trust so that Finance remains an integral part of the team and becomes a true business partner helping to deliver higher margins and improved working capital management, building the platform from which to grow the business further.
- Support the creation of a high-performance culture within the Finance Team to become a true business partner in both commercial and operational decision making.
- Establish a high level of credibility and cultivate strong working relationships with external parties such as the bank, funders, clients, and advisors.
- Support monthly reporting through production of monthly management accounts
- To help the business increase its margin:

- continuously improving and embedding processes and procedures
- develop KPIs & analytics to monitor profitability
- Support budgeting and forecasting models, which should include P&L and cash flow.
- Support improving the accounting and reporting system as well as the financial aspects of the project management system.
- Support the development of analytics and Power BI dashboards.
- Support the year-end process, which encompasses the preparation of statutory accounts, R&D reclaim, and tax computations.
- Business partner with the Leadership Team.

Experience/Skills required:

- ACCA/CIMA part or newly qualified accountant
- Previous experience or exposure to engineering/construction/design/property or similar industry would be a bonus but not required
- Previous management accounts experience
- Strong communication skills and capable of business partnering
