West Bromwich, United Kingdom Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust Full time

The clinically-led Musculoskeletal Service at SWB Trust would like to hear from clinicians with an interest in a full-time or hybrid first contact physiotherapy role in order that we can expand to meet the complex needs of our local population. Opportunities are available at:

- Band 7: We would be happy to hear from experienced Band 7 staff who can demonstrate their capability via a portfolio and are keen to specialise and further develop.
- Band 8 for clinicians with an MSc. Training posts may be available for those with evidence of capability achieving or approaching Level 7 across the 4 pillars of practice.

NHS experience in the community context with experience in primary care is preferred.

SWB Trust comprises Secondary Care specialities, Community Services and GP practices and we additionally support GP PCNs in the Sandwell and West Birmingham areas to promote integrated care. The role may offer the opportunity to develop an FCP Service in partnership with a new PCN for those who enjoy teamwork and building relationships or who are looking to further develop their leadership experience.

This role involves working as a lead clinician planning, delivering, evaluating and developing musculoskeletal (MSK) care as a First Contact Practitioner within a PCN as part of the primary care MDT together with the opportunity to work alongside colleagues from the SWBH MSK Service at Sandwell & West Birmingham Hospitals Trust.

Work alongside, support and liaise appropriately with the wider MDT as required in order to facilitate and optimise patient management.

Help to create and promote a culture of learning, acting as a mentor and playing an active role in the supervision, assessment and education of peers, MDT colleagues, support workers and students.

Work at Level 7 across the 4 pillars of practice (clinical, leadership/management, education, and service evaluation/research) and demonstrate continuous personal professional development across all aspects of the role.

Identify opportunities to promote fitness and wellbeing among patients, Trust employees and the general public, making every contact count, providing added value, promoting function and reducing musculoskeletal sickness absence.

Lead and support evidence based audit and research activity to further develop MSK practice, making and acting upon recommendations for changes in practice to improve service delivery and outcomes

Liaise with the Consultant Physiotherapists, ACP Lead and Operational Leads to streamlined patient-centered MSK Care across the integrated NHS Trust and local community

Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust (SWBT) is an integrated care organisation with a budget of approximately £600 million and over 7,000 staff. Diversity and social care is at the core of what we do as the Trust provides Community and Acute Services to over half a million people in an urban centre that demands massive regeneration and has substantial premature mortality.

**We have three newly emerging strategic objectives**:
1. Our People - to cultivate and sustain happy, productive and engaged staff
2. Our Patients - to be good or outstanding in everything we do
3. Our Population - to work seamlessly with our partners to improve live

Please see attached job Description and Person Specification for full details of what this role entails
