A **Researcher (Economic Crime)** is required for a **Fixed Term Contract (12 Months)** role paying **£27,174.00** per annum, **plus £2,835.11 London Allowance** **per annum** with the British Transport Police (BTP) based at **Force Headquarters, London.**
BTP is the national police Force for the rail network throughout Great Britain, including London Underground, across which we ensure the safety and security of nearly 3 billion passenger journeys and over 100 million tons of freight every year. The world in which we work is fast paced, operationally and commercially demanding, and constantly changing. As a **Researcher (Economic Crime)** with BTP you will **be part of Project Plume, focussing on cash-based money laundering in the Waste industry, working in partnership with BTP and the Joint Unit for Waste Crime.**
As **Researcher (Economic Crime) **you** **will be required to:
- ** Develop intelligence around cash-based money laundering in the waste industry**:
- ** Support investigations by the Project Plume team**:
- ** Identify opportunities to work with others to tackle crime**

- ** Previous experience in conducting research using a range of data sources and effectively displaying the results both verbally and in writing**:
- ** Knowledge of relevant legislation including**:
- Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000, Data Protection Act 1998, Human Rights Act 1998, Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984, Fraud Act 2006, Criminal Procedures and Investigations Act 1996, Powers of Criminal Court Act 2000, Criminal Justice Act 1967**:
- ** Educated to at least Degree standard in an associated field or previous experience working as a researcher or in a similar role**:
- ** Five GCSE’s (or equivalent). A-C grade in Maths and English are essential**
