Abergavenny, United Kingdom Aneurin Bevan University Health Board Full time

We are looking for 2 Healthcare Support Workers who are interested in joining a highly motivated and award-winning team. Working within the general hospitals to support patients over the age of 65 with a mental health diagnosis.

Being in a hospital can be a frightening time for most of us, which can be exasperated by a diagnosis such as dementia.

Your role would be to provide person-centred care and meaningful activities to meet the needs of the patient.

As an award-winning team, we pride ourselves on the learning opportunities we provide. Ensuring that we encourage and support individuals to further their educational needs to develop themselves and their future development within the health care service.

If you are interested in working with us, you will need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to enable clients’ independence, rights, choices and dignity. A caring and compassionate attitude is essential. Whilst experience of working within mental health or learning disability setting would be desirable it is not essential -it’s more about what you can bring to the role.

We adopt a flexible/blended approach to rostering ensuring that you are able to manage your work/life balance, so tell us what you can work and we will try to accommodate your needs.

As a Health Board we embrace continuous learning to improve the patient experience, we will provide you with outstanding professional development opportunities which will assist you on your own journey of excellence.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
