**Out of Hours Veterinary Care Assistant**

**Northampton NN5 5JW**

**£11 per hour**

**Full or Part time hours on a shift pattern.**

Do you have experience working in a veterinary practice or an interest in working with animals?

**The role**:
You will be joining a friendly, supportive team at our new, state of the art hospital.

You can expect to be involved in a large variety of cases expanding your experience and will include routine and emergency cases.

Duties will include:

- Cleaning, disinfecting and maintaining the practice to the highest levels
- Organizing cleaning laundry, storage and treatment facilities
- Reception duties and front of house cover to assist our evening reception team, and throughout the night.
- Assisting the overnight vet & nurse teams with surgeries procedures and care of the inpatients and lab work

**About you**:
You will have experience of working in a similar role or a demonstrable interest in working with animals.

A good standard of education with GCSE’s in Maths, English & Science.

A hard working, confident and friendly approach to all tasks and able to remain composed in the event of a veterinary emergency or challenging circumstances.

Able to work the following shifts:
**SHIFT PATTERN**:
**Our shifts are 7pm - 8am with a pattern of**:
**2 nights on, 6 nights off or**

**4 nights on, 4 nights off on a rolling rota. Shifts are 7pm-8am, with 1 hour break.**

Our Vets4Pets Hospital is a RCVS Accredited 24/7 animal hospital in the heart of Northampton, acting as OOH provider for 9 other practices. Our extremely experienced colleague base covers ECC medicine, Anaesthesia and General practice holders in both our veterinary and nursing divisions and are well supported by our non
- clinical teams.

In 2009, the practice was opened by our Joint Venture Partners, Jenny Millington & Davinia Graves with 2 employees and a vision and commitment to provide quality veterinary care to the local community. Last October, the practice moved to much larger premises and our team has now grown to 75 colleagues and continues to go from strength to strength.
