We are seeking a Linux Infrastructure Engineer for our Government client. The role can be based in Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle or Sheffield. The Linux Engineer role is an initial contract until December, paying between £450 - £500/Day Inside IR35.

This role is inside IR35 - Due to the service of the role it will now be based on an Umbrella solution.

**Role Profile**:

- As a Linux Infrastructure Engineer you will be responsible for configuration and support of physical and virtual IT operations solutions and services
- You will work in a team of infrastructure specialists and engineers making sure services are delivered and used according to industry and organisational best practices, standards, service requirements and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) throughout thelifecycle
- You will act as 2nd/3rd line support for incidents, problems and changes to solutions and services, and will provide specialist technical support and assistance to projects ensuring delivery of requisite non
- functional requirements and to continual serviceimprovement
- You will work closely with Architects, Site Reliability Engineers, Delivery Managers, and Product Managers, supporting the implementation and operationalisation of on premise hosted products and services
- You will provide technical support and assistance to infrastructure and transition projects
- Finally, you will help to develop junior team members by coaching and mentoring whilst assisting in the delivery of a first class service, and consistent levels of capability as required by the organisation
- Designs, Builds, configures, administers, and supports infrastructure technologies and solutions such as: compute, storage, networking, physical infrastructure, and software relating to Linux server environments and/or Red Hat
- Has a deep understanding of the technical concepts required for the role and understands how these fit into the wider technical landscape, specifically in relation to Linux server and associated technologies
- Develop, implement, maintain and review systems and services to ensure delivery of professional excellence. Successfully deliver high quality outcomes, identify risks and resolve issues efficiently, developing suggestions for improvements
- Ensures that the right actions are taken to investigate, resolve and anticipate problems. Able to dissect a problem to its component parts to identify and diagnose root causes. Able to troubleshoot and identify problems across different technology capabilities
- This role in the HCS Operations team is ideally suited to an Engineer with significant experience in management and administration of Red Hat and/or Oracle Linux based systems
