Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Management:

  • Support and enhance Linux infrastructure across on-premises and Azure environments.
  • Migrate existing configurations to native Linux Azure resources.
  • Implement automation and configuration management using tools like Ansible.

Security & Compliance:

  • Ensure the Linux estate aligns with security frameworks and compliance standards.
  • Continuously identify and implement improvements to enhance security and operational resilience.

Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Deploy and manage monitoring tools to oversee the infrastructure estate.
  • Develop reporting solutions for improved governance and oversight.

Collaboration & Support:

  • Work with IT teams to align Linux operations with broader organizational goals.
  • Provide technical support, resolve issues, and assist with application migrations.

Documentation & Training:

  • Create and maintain detailed documentation.
  • Deliver training sessions to empower the wider server support team.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Hands-on experience managing Linux servers in virtualized on-premises and Azure environments.
  • Expertise with Linux distributions, including RHEL, Ubuntu, SuSE, and CentOS.
  • Proficiency in configuration management tools such as Ansible, Git, and Terraform.
  • Strong understanding of IT security frameworks and the ability to ensure compliance.
  • Experience with automation, system hardening, and implementing operational enhancements.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to document processes and train teams effectively.
  • Proactive problem-solver with strong time-management and organizational skills.
