We're recruiting to the exciting role of **Mental Health Lead**, responsible for leading the provision of specialist Mental Health support in our Kirklees service. Working alongside partners in Community Mental Health Services, including Dual Diagnosis, you'll be the MH expert in our management team overseeing provision, pathways and ensuring our offer meets the needs of Kirklees residents. You may be required to line manage 2 direct reports.

**Responsibilities**:
**About the role**:

- Provide specialist assessment which includes mental capacity assessments, assessment of needs in MH crisis (working closely with and referring into SPA) and perform the role of a ‘trusted ‘assessor’ within the service in order to facilitate access to community mental health support. Recommend suitable Dual Diagnosis referrals via the existing service pathways.
- Lead the Mental Health MDT and attend other multi-disciplinary meetings to provide specialist mental health advice and recommendations in order to enhance treatment plans and support risk management.
- Working alongside the Recovery Co-ordination teams to provide bespoke mental health and substance misuse interventions to people on a substance misuse caseload who are not yet able to access community mental health treatment, bridging the gap between services and ensuring continual advocacy to link into community MH treatment.
- Oversee in-reach into local mental health inpatient wards to co-facilitate comprehensive assessment of needs, safe and effective discharge planning and to engage in integrated community treatment and support alongside the appropriate multiagency stakeholders.
- Develop and deliver bespoke mental health and substance misuse training packages for system partners (e.g. SWYFT, VCSE) to support professionals to increase their knowledge and awareness.

**About you**:

- Mental Health qualifications, ideally in Dual Diagnosis/Co-existing conditions
- Knowledge of and skills in appropriate therapeutic interventions for working with people with mental health and substance misuse needs.
- Significant experience in working with people who use substances and have complex mental health needs.
- Experience of pathway development and effective multiagency working to address barriers to accessing community mental health services
- Knowledge and skills in trauma informed interventions
- A good understanding of various risk management tools as well as CPA framework and MAPPA.
- Knowledge of a range of psychosocial and clinical interventions, including Motivational interviewing techniques and CBT
- Experience of writing and delivering training sessions to a range of stakeholders
- Effective leadership skills including the ability to motivate and inspire staff and service users
- Line management experience (desirable).
