We are seeking to recruit an attendance monitoring officer to join the school Attendance Monitoring team in South Tyneside Council.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape approaches to working with children, families, schools, and other professionals to secure good attendance and ensure the safeguarding of all children and young people in the borough.

We know that school attendance raises achievement and a sense of belonging for young people. This is key in providing the life skills and qualifications to have the best possible future life and we want you to support us in achieving this ambition.

Working Together to Improve School Attendance provides us with an ideal opportunity to continue to develop, with schools and partners, strategies to identify trends, discuss and support those at risk of becoming a persistent absentee.
