Penso are looking for a Business Development Manager to enable the business to achieve its strategic goals for the growth of the business, both with existing and new clients. This individual will be responsible for building key customer relationships, withexisting and new customers, identifying prospects and selling engineering services and products. They will also carry out surveys to ensure that customers are satisfied and positive identifying areas of improvement. They will be maximising sales opportunitieswith existing clients, identifying potential new customers and will convert leads into new customers for the business.

**Overview of Penso**:
Founded to deliver specialist engineering design and development projects Penso has grown into a business that can deliver a complete turnkey solution on behalf of its global customers. In order to deliver this overall capability Penso has developed itsskills in project and supply chain management, and put in place all the necessary quality systems and processes to allow them to deliver projects to the standards expected by our customers.
Penso has an intimate understanding of their clients, processes and requirements enabling them to embed engineering teams within our customers structure as required.
As the company has grown it’s capability to include prototyping and ultimately the manufacturing of production parts, systems and vehicles. They have needed to develop the required skills and capabilities to deliver product to the same level of quality andcustomer expectation as they have on their engineering programmes.
**What are we looking for?**
Essential Skills:
- Proven track record and experience working in the field of business development, sales or in a similar sector
- Strong customer facing skills and relationship management both internal and external
- Excellent communication skills and confidence to speak to new and existing customers
- Proven organisational skills and excellent time management
- Desire to achieve targets in a fast-paced working environment
- Use of Microsoft packages - Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Ability to use Sales software system
- Previous experience of delivering presentations to inspire and educate clients in the benefits of using our services
- Excellent negotiation skills and commercial awareness
- Understanding the importance of Time, Quality and Cost on projects
- Discipline to follow technical and administrational procedures
- A drive to learn and improve at every opportunity
Desirable Skills:
- Master’s degree
- Engineering/Manufacturing design knowledge
- HTML, Word press, Adobe Software such Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Premiere
What are the key responsibilities?
- To understand the business capabilities and services, drive new business opportunities, maximise sales and enhance portfolio of clients
- Continuously monitor and provide quarterly market research on market trends, developments, competitors, and potential customers and assist with the development of the sales strategy
- Contacting potential clients to establish rapport and arrange meetings.
- Build and maintain key customer relationships to ensure that sales opportunities are maximised, and the customer is satisfied
- Act as a driving force for behind generating new sales leads and contracts
- Be responsible for following up and developing new business opportunities and targeting new markets; identifying business opportunities and keeping abreast of current market conditions
- Support the preparation of quotes for new business
- Arrange and attend meetings with both new and existing clients, ensuring that the company is represented in a professional way and our products and services are presented clearly
- Produce detailed proposals and presentations which meet the needs of the customer requirements
- Attend relevant conferences, seminars, shows, exhibitions, and networking events to actively generate leads
- Follow up on all sales enquiries in a timely manner
- Achieve agreed sales targets and KPI’s
- Manage internal Sales Force system and ensure that it is used effectively by the team and ensure all relevant data in entered the system.
Key Measurements:
- Meeting project deliverables with supporting documentation within quoted timing and cost constraints
- Business leads converted to sales
- Turnover/Profit
- Meeting PENSO policy requirements within PQMS
- Demonstrate that you have met objectives set in performance reviews
