A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Buyer to work in our facility in Severn Beach. The purpose of this role is to provide commercial support to the Head of Procurement as well as the wider business to ensure budgetary compliance through identifying savings opportunities, negotiating pricing with suppliers and managing contract terms to minimise commercial and supply risks.

**Main responsibilities**:

- Ensure the common processes and best practice are implemented, used, and continually improved.
- Understanding business requirements for goods and services and ensuring supply contracts are in place to meet these requirements.
- Developing and maintaining knowledge of relevant supply markets.
- Managing supplier relationships, engagement and involvement.
- Manage the annual contracting plan to ensure that agreements are reviewed with the necessary action to re-tender, renew or cancel is proposed and managed in a timely manner.
- Provide feedback to commercial team on the status of contracting activity and update the contracting plan to reflect identified improvement opportunities and changing business needs.
- Liaise with sales, marketing, and the NPD team to source and develop product ranges, concepts and ideas.
- Monitor supplier performance ratings and identify possible new supply partners.
- Manage and be responsible for direct spend categories, ensure business requirements are met against PPV and service level KPIs
- Responsible for systems and tools used for administration of contracts.
- Analyse current products and supply chain, benchmarking Bart product range versus the competitive set, make recommendations for change.

**Person specification/Qualifications/Capabilities**:

- Knowledge of ETI, Sedex and other Ethical initiatives
- Knowledge of industry and supplier developments on Sustainability
- Knowledge of legal regulations and customer Sustainability requirements
- Self-motivated, resilient, flexible and adaptable
- Ability to work under pressure
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritise and manage deadlines while working on longer-term projects.

The hours are 37.5 per week Monday - Friday - with a salary of £40,000. This role is applicable to our flexible working policy enabling you to work up to 2 days per week from home.
