This role is based at our Head Office in Ashton, South Bristol, however we have a blended approach between office and home working, so you will be able to achieve a great work-life balance.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Assistant Buyer or Junior Buyer to join the Funky Pigeon Gifting team. Reporting into the Buyer, the objective of the role is to deliver profitable new ranges to attract our growing customer base.

You’ll be managing a mix of exciting gifting categories, with opportunity to test new products and ranges and work with a diverse supplier portfolio across personalised and non-personalised gifting.

A passion for product is a must, with ability to interpret the market and bring innovative new products to our customers. It’s a fast paced, dynamic, and creative environment and you’ll love working as part of a close-knit team to deliver business KPIs.

**The Accountabilities**
- Identify areas for opportunity within our ranges and bring new products to the website.
- Keep abreast of market trends, customer requirements and competitor activity thus be able to identify market opportunities
- Manage designated categories and conduct range reviews to generate profitable sales
- Create and manage promotional strategies for ranges and product categories
- Product development for personalised and non-personalised gifts
- Ensure the smooth running of promotions and comply with promotional deadlines
- Manage effective relationships with suppliers
- Build strong cross functional relationships
- Take accountability and support the team on various projects.

**The Requirements for the role**
- A passion for product and all things online retail
- Strong analytical skills, data interpretation and the ability to interpret the market
- Self-motivated and able to prioritise workload effectively
- Proven ability to work within a team
- Engaging and influential communication skills
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to interpret the market
- Excellent negotiation skills
- High level of numeracy and the ability to interpret detailed reports
- Strong awareness of supply chain and cost management and some experience in forecasting is advantageous but not essential
- Previous experience as an Assistant Buyer or Junior Buyer
