inner Education are working in partnership with an SEN school in Nuneaton, assisting them with the recruitment of learning mentors to provide support to identified students and/or general support to a number of students. The roles are 30 hours per week,9am until 3pm Monday - Friday, term time only and are based in Nuneaton. The positions are permanent and are to start as soon as possible. Applicants must have a background having worked with children in an educational setting. The school we are working withprovides an alternative to mainstream education for young people aged 11-19 who are at risk of social exclusion due to a co-morbidity of disorders or social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.

The overall purpose of the role is to provide support to identified students and/or general support to a number of students. Below is a detailed outline of this Nuneaton based
- Day to day responsibility for the operation and implementation of the mentoring programme. This includes:

- Providing individual support for named students or groups of students as directed by the Lead Mentor.
- Supporting the assessment and analysis of student need and planning and executing programmes of support to meet those needs.
- Providing general support to a group of students during lessons and other activities.
- Providing 'Colour Feedback Sessions’ to their named students and/or a group of students as required by the SENCO.
- Providing specified support to enable students to integrate.
- Accompanying students on visits and trips outside the school, formal and informal.
- Maintenance of the student’s 'Development Folder’ and other associated materials.
- Preparing and delivering developmental support through weekly sessions to named students and a number of other students as required by the SENCO.
- Mentors should be ready to begin work at the start of the day (9.30am unless otherwise agreed) and are therefore expected to arrive in sufficient time to prepare for the day.
- Collaborating with Senior Staff, the SENCO and other members of the team to ensure that the needs of all students are given equal emphasis and that resources are used to their utmost effectiveness and efficiency.
- Providing support for colleagues and maintaining high standards within the school. Adhering to established working practices and student safeguarding guidelines.
- Maintaining student records and other administrative duties as required.
- To undertake any other duties and responsibility deemed necessary and appropriate by senior staff.
