Specification Technologist

Alexander Steele Recruitment are working in partnership with a large, established food manufacturing business in Middlesex and we are assisting them with finding a talented Specification Technologist to join their team.

**On offer**:

- Salary of £35,000 to £42,000 depending on experience
- Working on site Monday to Friday
- On site parking

**The Role**:
Reporting to the Head of Technical, the Specification Technologist will be responsible for writing, updating and maintaining specifications using NutriCalc and Wave for the businesses multi-component products that are supplied to UK Retailers.
- Ensure the businesses food safety and quality objectives are consistently met
- Compile Customer Product Specifications, review and update
- Provide technical support to the technical function and customers
- Compile and maintain Raw Material Specifications, get approval from Suppliers and Head of Technical.
- Co-ordinate with supplier to get COA/COC of raw materials
- Ensure raw material specifications are updated
- Keep abreast of legislation to ensure company compliance
- Assist in the benchmarking of products to ensure Technical Compliance to specification
- Ensure new products are analysed according to customer requirements for Nutrition and Shelf life
- Completion of Quality Attribute sheets and any other Technical documentation required by the customer
- Manage objectives set by the Head of Technical and ensure completion within the timescales
- Any other tasks as required by the Head of Technical
- Minimum 1 years experience working as a Specification Technologist
- A good understanding of Nutricalc and calculation of nutritional values
- Understanding of customer portals
- Be organised and be able to manage time efficiently
- Have HACCP level 3 +
- Have internal auditing qualifications
