We are looking for two enthusiastic Senior Partnership Commissioners to join our expert teams that commission a wide range of children and young people services, on behalf of Kent and Medway residents. Partnership Commissioning are responsible for ensuring there is joint commissioning between health and social care to ensure the best outcomes for our children and families.

Partnership Commissioning is seeking applicants who will bring specialist knowledge and expertise to the commissioning of children’s acute and community care pathways and help support the transformation of children’s health services, as part of the NHS England CORE20PLUS5 Programme. This transformational programme seeks to improve the patient experience and is committed at looking at innovative ways to improve care and offer more choice to our** **children and young people. They will need the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders and have the credibility and capability to work collaboratively with clinical staff.

The Partnership Commissioning team are a forward thinking and experienced service that coordinate a wide portfolio of projects for Medway Council and on behalf of the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board. There are two senior commissioning roles available that will work across Kent and Medway to improve care pathways for child health. Whilst day to day management of these posts will sit with the Medway Children’s Commissioning Programme Lead the postholders will work across both Medway Local Authority and Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB).

The successful applicants will work closely with a Programme Lead by proactively managing current commissioned contracts, procurement of new services, analysis of data to inform service improvement, pathway design and whole system improvement, engaging with service users and service user support groups to improve outcomes for patients, working in partnership across primary and secondary care and clinical networks and any other day to day activity as and when directed.

This may include undertaking practice research, assessment of need and demand data and financial analysis and arranging/coordinating patient/service user and provider engagement activity where required.

This exciting opportunity will give the successful applicant the opportunity to contribute extensively to the commissioning service delivery and help transform how we improve children’s health. They will be expected to work in partnership with providers, other agencies, and strategic networks.

The post holder must have strong negotiation skills and be confident to present at strategic partnership forums and provide advice to wider system partners about our commissioning programme delivery. Good communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships are also important.
