**Accommodation Officer - Housing Solutions Team**

**Permanent, 37 Hours Per Week, Full Time**

We are seeking to appoint an Accommodation Officer.

**About the role**

As part of the Housing Solutions Team, you will:
Have the knowledge on homelessness, early intervention and prevention option, housing advice and all available housing options with Rotherham

Provide both telephone and face to face service and give advice and support on early intervention to customers.

Engage our customers to understand their strengths, talents, ambitions and to identify areas they may require additional support to obtain or maintain housing.

Provide an effective, professional homelessness service on behalf of the Council.

Developing and maintain links between Housing Associations, Support Providers, Private Landlords, Letting Agents and Keychoices to ensure a maximum number of properties are available to prevent and relieve homelessness.

Coordinate and attend viewings, liaising with all relevant services and providing interventions needed to sustain a tenancy.

Provide interventions to help people sustain a tenancy and understand their responsibilities as a tenant - making appropriate referrals for additional support, if required, to assist in sustaining the tenancy.

This is an exciting time within the homelessness sector as we continue to create positive change and improve wellbeing under the Homelessness Reduction Act.

As our Accommodation Officer, you will have a vital role in helping us shape our service provided under this legislation to the benefit of our customers.
