Apprentice Assistant Buyer

Procurement teams are responsible for researching, sourcing, buying, storing, maintaining and delivering the equipment and goods needed to produce or support our products at the right time, the right cost and to the right quality. You’ll study for a higher-level procurement qualification whilst gaining experience in procurement and buying.
**Purpose of the job role**:
To support the Direct Procurement team in its strategic and tactic remit of procurement for Accord Healthcare Ltd, while undertaking the Commercial Procurement and Supply apprenticeship programme.
**Specific Job Responsibilities**:
During the period of the Apprenticeship, work, learning opportunities and responsibilities will be varied and will include:
- Liaising with colleagues in our wider Supply Chain to understand the complete journey of materials from our suppliers through to the customer
- Customer requirements
- Sourcing of new suppliers & materials
- Goods receipt & Quality checks
- Planning, Manufacturing & Packing of Goods
- Logistics
- Interpreting & processing requisitions / work orders to convert to Purchase orders
- Liaising with Suppliers to place orders, expediting / deferring orders and providing forecasts for future demand
- Processing supplier set ups within the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems ensuring compliance to Quality, Financial and Know Your Business Partner (KYBP) requirements
- Understanding and Processing documentation to enable Supply agreements (contracts) to be negotiated, reviewed, and approved. Ensuring agreed commercial terms are updated in ERP systems as required
- Support in problem solving of supply chain challenges, ensuring no impact on supply
- Supplier relationship management support to the procurement team in preparation, hosting, documenting of, and closing out of actions in Business Review Meetings (BRMs) with our key partners and suppliers
- Support the alternative supplier /material process (SIQ process - Supplier Item Qualification)
- Support procurement team for Executive, Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), and any other PowerPoint (PP) slides to bring together effective and cohesive communication for direct procurement to our key stakeholders
- Proactively deliver Procurement & personal performance metrics to enable inputs into the monthly reports and annual personal goals

**Qualifications required**:
- 5 GCSE’s at grade A*-C or 4-9 to include English and Maths.
- 3 A Levels at C or above or equivalent Level 3 qualification e.g. BTEC at Merit or Distinction
**Relevant Functional/Technical Skills or Industry Experience**
- PC literate ideally with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook & PowerPoint knowledge
- Time management skills
- Demonstrable analytical aptitude
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Team player but able to work on own initiative
35.5 hours per week
Monday to Thursday - 8.30am to 4.30pm
Friday - 8.30am to 2pm
