We have an opportunity for a **Senior Asset Planning Sponsor **to join the Asset Management Waste department at Yorkshire Water to help us to deliver a better and more efficient service for our customers. Could this be you?

**Location**: This role is a flexible hybrid working arrangement and will be based in the Leeds area. there will be an expectation to visit sites in the Yorkshire region there a full valid driving licence (with no more than 6 points) is an essential requirement for this role.

**Work type**: This is a permanent opportunity. The role will be expected to cover a standard working window Monday to Friday working a 37- hour week.

**Where you fit in**:
Your role with our Asset Management Waste department will lead a team of Asset Planning Sponsors to provide safe, reliable and affordable Wastewater Treatment and Sludge assets to deliver obligations within the AMP7 WINEP and Base Maintenance Programmes.

As our **Senior Asset Planning Sponsor**, you will develop and lead the team of Asset Planning Sponsors to manage asset risks to meet the needs of the AMP7 wastewater WINEP and base maintenance programmes. This will include the following:

- Supporting the team in managing the concept and definition phase programmes of work and relationships with contract partners.
- Work with contract partners where required on the development and benefits realisation stages of a project or set of projects.
- Act as a sponsor for schemes if the programme demands it.
- Lead on emergency capital interventions to maintain permit compliance.
- Drive excellent standards and performance in health and safety, risk management and control of work, ensure compliance with the YW safety policy and demonstrate relentless drive, energy, and determination to deliver sustainable outperformance for YW that rigorously achieves our vision.
- Work in conjunction with the Design Guidance and Engineering Specification owners to support the collaborative project teams in consistent decision making on schemes.
- Assist in the exploration of alternative technologies for the scheme ensuring risks are balanced on whole life cost, carbon and other six capitals benefits.

**What skills & qualifications you will need**:

- A technical background in wastewater treatment and be qualified to a minimum HNC level or equivalent in an appropriate engineering/science related discipline.
- Experienced in leading highly successful teams.
- Knowledge and understanding or asset management principles and processes with previous experience in an operational and/or strategic leadership role in a commercially oriented and/or regulated environment.
- Knowledge and experience of wastewater and sludge treatment.
- Financial awareness of the AMP plan
- Clear understanding of the position and role of wastewater asset planning as well an individual role in delivering company risk management plans
- Experience in carrying out detailed investigations into performance shortfalls on wastewater and/or sludge treatment assets.
- Experience in developing and maintaining internal and external relationships which includes consultants and contract partners.
- Experience in supporting and embedding change, able to influence and drive the right culture and behaviours and drive continuous improvement in the team.

- Knowledge of the YW AMP7 WINEP obligations and how the business plan was developed, and outperformance already achieved.
