Workshop Fitter

**Grasstex, founded in 1962 and located approximately 8 miles west of Horsham in the village of Ellens Green, are grounds maintenance and sports pitch contractors providing a range of soft landscaping services. As a family company, Grasstex are able to put customers first and thrive on building strong, long-term relationships.**

Due to an increase in workload we are looking to recruit an **experienced fitter / service engineer**.

**Job responsibilities**:
Ensure the smooth and safe day-to-day running of the company’s workshop enabling the company to deliver reliable service to its customers. fitter/service engineer ensures that all workshop activities comply with current regulations, accepted professional standards, company policies and procedures and relevant legislation.

Undertake routine servicing and care of all vehicles, powered plant and equipment, including ride on mowers, strimmers and self-propelled equipment. Ensuring that plant, machinery, vehicles and equipment meet safety regulations, operate and are maintained correctly and relevant service records are completed.

Working hours 7 am to 4 pm during GMT and 7 am to 5 pm during BST Monday to Friday in a fully equipped workshop, service van provided for site calls. Annual leave 28 days including bank holidays.

**Skills & Competencies**:

- Strong mechanical engineering knowledge, achieved either through experience or formal qualifications
- Good interpersonal skills to nurture relationships with staff and suppliers
- Able to maintain stock levels of parts to ensure availabilty when needed
- Advanced problem solving skills to maximise available resources to deliver service in consultation with managers and operatives
- Ability to manage time and workload; pro-actively plan routine and recurring tasks
- Ability to work flexible hours and work under pressure in a time sensitive environment
- Hydraulic and electrical systems experience
- Ability to weld and fabricate desirable.
- Full driving licence

Competitive salary dependant on skill set & experience, payable fortnightly.
