As a result, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Information Governance Officer to be part of an engaging Information Governance Team to help develop, deliver and maintain an excellent Information Governance service across all Provide group of companies.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the Group and external stakeholders when necessary, and closely with the Information Governance Manager, Head of Information Governance/DPO, Contracts team and the Assistant Director of IT and Development to ensure that Provide and Group companies meet their Information Governance and Data Protection legislative and Regulatory obligations.

Previous working knowledge and experience of Information Governance in practice, UK General Data Protection Regulation, Data Protection Act 2018 and Information Technology principles will be essential criteria for this role.

You will be an enthusiastic, motivated and highly organised individual who is passionate about the safe and secure handling of information which in turn enables the support and care provided to our patients and service users.

The Senior Information Governance Officer will be the first point of contact for queries from Provide Group companies which will come from a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders of all levels of seniority.

The post holder will gain a full understanding of the IG practices within Provide and Provide’s group companies and work with colleagues in the group companies and central IG Team to ensure that good IG practice is carried out effectively and professionally with specific responsibility for helping to develop and implement Information Security, Confidentiality and all other associated IG Policies and protocols across the Provide’s Group companies.

An advanced understanding of IG and the production and maintenance of accurate project documentation is an essential part of this role along with the coordination of time critical work.

Eligible for NHS Pension
- Support the Information Governance Manager in the implementation of the Information Governance Strategy and Strategic Plans.
- Carrying out Information Governance Audits
- Maintain Information Asset Registers and Records of Processing Activities (ROPA) register, liaising with staff and other stakeholders with regards to Information Risk Issues under the direction of the IG Manager. Provide training on the use of new IG systems and processes.
- Review and processing of Information Sharing Agreements
- Raising general awareness of data protection within the Group companies
- Assist group companies with processing Subject access requests
- Ensuring recording of all work in line with the organisations procedures, ensuring all work is appropriately approved and authorised through the change control processes.
- Collate data and present in written reports, identify trends and patterns in data and translate the outcome of research for the understanding of both technical and non-technical colleagues.
- Provide programme administrative support working to PRINCE2 Project Management standards
- Assisting in the co-ordination of project progress and risk reports and compiling status summaries for the programme
- Responsible for assistance with completing the DSP Toolkit for each Group company, ensuring evidence is cohesive, self-explanatory and relevant to the financial year assessment.
