We are currently looking to recruit two enthusiastic and motivated Tele-coach / Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to join our First Response Service.

This post is open to professionals with the right attributes to enhance a team. The team is overseen each shift by a Clinical Lead. The outcome of the telephone triage or face to face assessment is that the patient will be supported, given advice, referred to appropriate services.

Tele-coaches provide brief clinical risk and mental state assessment, formulation and brief psychological interventions for people presenting in mental health crisis.

Working via telephone, Tele-coaches are experts in validating, de-escalating crisis and coaching people in distress tolerance and emotional regulation strategies.

Using a range of brief psychological interventions, Tele-coaches empower patients, carers and families to manage distress and crisis effectively.

To work completely within the Framework of the Care Programme Approach (CPA).

- The post involves working with clients of the Mental Health Crisis Service over the phone.
- The working environment includes exposure to high levels of distress in others. There is a requirement for substantial periods of concentration and sitting.
- Work without direct supervision to deliver brief psychological interventions via telephone.
- Undertake clinical risk assessments, based on latest empirical evidence and

compliant with local policies and procedures.
- Supervise and support Apprentice and Trainee staff.
- Ensure that individual episodes of care are delivered in a timely, effective and integrated manner.
- Promote a recovery model that empowers patients, carers and relatives to be at the forefront of decision making and ownership of their packages of care and treatment.
- Act as the patients and relatives advocate.
- Enable patients and carers to manage disability, loss and change.
- Champion patients’ rights, including: dignity, equality, diversity, choice and respect.
- When undertaking all of the above ensure good documentation is provided and entered within the appropriate systems of record sharing.
- Provide advice and guidance on mental health problems.
- Share clinical information on individuals coming into contact with Police Officers, as per agreed information sharing protocol.
- Co-ordinate the lone working arrangements for Acute Care Community Staff.
- Discuss and arrange appropriate Police response to mental health crisis.
